AN ACT TO SEND RELIEF TO THE NATION OF ISRAEL AS THEY BATTLE THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION KNOWN AS HAMAS, Ḥarakat al-Muqāwamah al-ʾIslāmiyyah. THIS GROUP HAS BOMBARDED ISRAEL IN THEIR HOME TERRITORY AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN IN A BACK AND FORTH CONFLICT FOR 36
YEARS. WITH THIS OUT OF THE BLUE ATTACK, WE NEED TO SEND MORE FINANCIAL AID TO ISRAEL TO HELP THEM FIGHT THE WAR AGAINST THE RADICAL ISLAMIC TERRORISTS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA:
SECTION 1. Short title; exclusivity. This act shall be known as the "Israel Defense Act." The sending of aid to Israel will help them bolster their defenses around their country as they face HAMAS and other radical terrorist organizations.
SECTION 2. Definitions. For purposes of this act, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings set forth below unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
(a) "HAMAS" means a radical terrorist group in the Gaza
strip.
(b) “IRON DOME” is a mobile defense system designed to
protect Israeli citizens from short-range threats like rockets and projectiles.
(c) “HEZBOLLAH” is a radical terrorist group from Lebanon
SECTION 3. Special fund. There shall be established in the
Federal Treasury a special fund for the department to administer the Aid Plan. The fund shall consist of amounts received from appropriations, and any other proceeds from gifts, grants, federal funds, and any other funds, both public and private, made available for the purposes of this chapter. The fund shall be administered by the department. Unexpended monies remaining in the fund at the end of a fiscal year shall not lapse into the Federal General Fund, and any interest earned or investment earnings on amounts in the fund shall be deposited into the fund.
SECTION 4. Purpose. Israel had an act of terrorism enacted upon them by the radical terrorist group HAMAS. This bill would provide funding for Israel’s missile defense system, the Iron Dome. More funding for the Iron Dome would help boost their response time to any missiles launched by HAMAS. Although we provide military aid to Israel already, we need to provide additional funding while they are at war with HAMAS. War with, at the time this bill was penned, Hezbollah and the nation Iran is also looming in the air.
SECTION 5. Funding. We should provide roughly 4 billion in
Federal Aid to Israel. This is about 700 million more than we usually give per year. Israel needs this money to fairly combat HAMAS and any other entity it has to.
SECTION 6. This act shall remain in effect for a period of one year to the date of passing. After this period, Congress can review its provisions and consider extending it.
SECTION 8. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
