U.S Immigration System

Section I: Citizenship
Eligibility
Undocumented immigrants have
the right to earn U.S. Citizenship in 5-7 years through the following:
· Clear background checks
· Tax requirements
· Uphold residency requirements
However, undocumented
immigrants who do not abide by U.S. laws consistently or pose a threat to U.S.
security are subjected to deportation or severe consequences.
Section II: Workforce Support
Visa Approvals
Prioritize expedited visas to
immigrants who offer STEM employment benefits or help aid in labor shortages.
· Visa Modernization Initiative
(VMI) implementation which reviews applications efficiently through extended
staffing and secure digital system.
· Employment or STEM based
visas should be processed within 90 days.
· Provide reports every 6
months that fulfils VMI quota and ensures accountability.
Section III: Humanitarian
Protection
Provide asylum seekers,
refugees, victims of abuse visas faster while safeguarding DREAMers
· Asylum seekers, refugees, or
any endangered people’s visas should be processed within 120 days.
· Provide reports every 6
months to ensure timely assistance is provided to refugees and asylum seekers.
· Dream Act Protecting
permanent legal status for individuals who have been living in the United
States as young children and allowing them to earn citizenship through legal permanent
residency and citizenship requirements.
Section IV: Border Security
Enhancements
Implementation of smart sensors
and cameras which detect security threats and contrabands at border
checkpoints.
- Ensures fair assessment to
avoid human error while minimizing manual inspection time to promote
efficiency.
Implementation of enhanced
biometric and identity verification to help immigration processing.
- Department of Homeland
Security should upgrade to a system that collects fingerprints, facial scans,
and iris recognition to create an organized profile for immigration processing,
threat detection, and prevention of identity theft.
Section V: Digital Case
Processing System
Implementation of a secure, cloud based digital processing
system to manage visa, asylum, and residency applications.
- Organized system that allows applicants to track the case
status, upload documents, and provide communication in one place.
